I teach methods classes. My niche is in teaching pretty advanced courses that fit in at the cutting edge of dealing with data that have a latent or unobserved structure. In other words, data with some kind of endogeneity or omitted variable bias problem that we tend to see in hierarchical, spatial, network, temporal or otherwise grouped data.
This video is a lecture that I gave at Indiana University in 2018 that forms an introduction to my multilevel modeling classes. I’ve given similar versions of this talk at a few other schools and it’s also the basis for the early lectures in my MLM classes.
